The Phyllobates vittatus, known as the Golfo Dulce poison frog, is a small amphibian of the Dendrobatidae family, native to Costa Rica. It is distinguished by its smooth, orange or red skin with black/yellow stripes along its body.
Diet:
Their diet mainly consists of small insects such as fruit flies, micro crickets, and springtails. A varied diet rich in calcium and essential nutrients is crucial for their well-being.
Coexistence:
Given their territorial nature, it is advisable to keep Phyllobates Vittatus in pairs or small groups within a well-planted vivarium.
Experience Level:
Recommended for amphibian keepers with intermediate or advanced experience. It is important to understand proper management of humidity, temperature, and feeding.
Environmental Parameters:
They require high humidity (80–100%) and temperatures between 22–26°C. A substrate capable of retaining moisture and regular misting help maintain optimal conditions.
